Netflix’s Castlevania Series Has Fans Excited for Season 2

Netflix’s Castlevania Series Has Fans Excited for Season 2

With the first season of Castlevania only having four episodes, most people were able to binge all of it in one day. Season two has doubled to eight episodes, pleasing fans of the show.

As someone who is a huge fan of Castlevania, I was skeptical at first but hopeful for what this series would bring when it was first released on July 7, 2017. If you have not watched it yet, it's based on the third game in the classic series following the final surviving member of the Belmont clan as he seeks to thwart the efforts of Vlad Dracula Tepe and save Eastern Europe from a terrible demise.

I know that I personally binge watched it the same day it came out, blown away by how well they brought a video game adaptation to the small screen. What I did not realize, as I am sure a lot of fans of the show missed as well, was the announcement of a second season the same day the first season premiered. If you have not played the series before or do not care for shows based on video games, Producer Adi Shankar may change your mind with this quote, "This is very much Castlevania done in the vein of Game of Thrones."

It's not meant for the faint of heart though, as Mr. Shankar also mentioned in the same interview, "[The series is] going to be R-rated as f***." It is a mature show that's meant for adults, so keep that in mind if you have young children who may not be ready to watch something graphic or with language.

No official release date has been announced, but this summer makes sense as that was when the first season was released.

Have you already seen the first season or are you going to binge the whole thing from the start when season 2 releases? Feel free to leave your feedback in the comment section below.
