Artist Creates 3D Pixar-Style Characters Using Stranger's Faces

3D Pixar-style character
There are so many talented artists and designers out there today and one of them that really stood out is Lance Phan, 3D CGI animator and designer known for creating Pixar-esque animated characters of complete strangers.

Phan uses software like Blender, Marvelous Designer, and Photoshop to create these impressive artworks. Photoshop is used to apply a few color and sharpen filters. Marvelous designer is used to provide the character with some basic clothing. And most of the heavy lifting is done with Blender, including sculpting the character, object generation, rendering and more.

A full character render takes between one to two hours due to the high quality render settings and amount of detail applied to the design.

Here a few of Phan's finished designs that I simply find breathtaking:

brunette female with glasses

female blue hair

female Marvel cap

female plaid shirt

female blonde with beanie

And a bit of his artist process explained here:
