LEGOLAND California creates their very own Death Star

That's no moon... That's a LEGO Space Station!  The folks over at LEGOLAND California are updating their LEGO Star Wars Miniland display in advance for the LEGO Star Wars Days on March 7th and 8th.  On March 5th, they will be unveiling a giant Miniland-scale Death Star, complete with a trench run battle.

The LEGO Death Star was constructed from 500,000 LEGO bricks and captures the scene in the 1977 "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" in which Luke Skywalker bravely guides his X-wing fighter through heavy combat to destroy the deadly mega-weapon. Hopefully LEGO has hidden the Death Star plans out of reach from the Rebellion this time!
