High School student suspended for being a designated driver
17-year-old senior, Erin Cox, who attends North Andover High School in North Andover, Massachusetts was suspended for helping drive a drunk friend home from a party. When Erin arrived at the party to pick up her friend, police cleared her and confirmed that she had not been drinking alcohol.
The school said it came to its decision because Erin was in violation of its zero-tolerance policy against alcohol and drug use, resulting in a suspension plus removal of her honor student's title of captain of the girl's volleyball team.
The Cox family hired attorney Wendy Murphy in hopes to reverse the school's decision while Erin's friends are currently starting a petition.
