There weren't a whole lot of new announcements, but we found out that the new Smash game will be called "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate" and will include all previous characters plus a few new ones. There was also a new Mario Party game shown and a new Fire Emblem game as well.
The conference started off with a trailer for Daemon X Machina and it was visually impressive. It's from Marvelous Entertainment, and you can expect it on the Switch in 2019. It looks like it could be a lot of fun; hope to hear more details soon.
Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Eevee were recapped from their original reveal, but we did learn something new. Mew will be an exclusive to the Pokeball Plus accessory that you can buy separately or in special bundles for $100 that will include the game and the Pokeball Plus. Seeing how much it costs will definitely make me pass on picking up the accessory. I'm still very excited about the games though.
Super Mario Party was announced in a reveal trailer. It'll have some mini-games that use two Switch tablets so that will be interesting to see when it comes out.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses was announced in a reveal trailer and looks absolutely stunning with its anime-inspired visuals. You can expect to see it on the Switch in the Spring of 2019. I haven't kept up with the series, but I do remember getting the first Fire Emblem Game Boy Advance game and liking it quite a bit.
Fortnite, which leaked early before the conference, released an hour after the conference started. It is the free battle royale mode version. I keep meaning to try this game out, but from the few streams, I have seen it looks like a lot of fun.
Octopath Traveler will be receiving a second demo on June 14th, and your progress will carry over to the full game once you buy it. I am really impressed by everything I have seen from this game and cannot wait to get my hands on it when it releases July 13th.
In a short video montage, Overcooked 2 (Releasing August 7th), Killer Queen Black (2018), and Hollow Knight (available now) were all shown off. Hollow Knight will include all of the previously released DLC. I played Hollow Knight on the PC, and I can vouch for it being a fantastic game that everyone should play. Killer Queen Black looks like a fun arcade experience, and I am interested to find out more details about it.
In a long third (some first) party montage a bunch of games were featured so I will be listing those games as well as the release dates/windows for the Switch. Minecraft (June 21st), Dragonball Fighter Z (2018), Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion (Summer 2018), Mario Tennis Aces (June 22nd), Megman 11 (October 2nd), Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (July 13th), Crash Bandicoot Nsane Trilogy (June 29th), Ninjala (Spring 2019), Carcassonne (This Holiday season), Starlink: Battle for Atlas (October 16th), Arena of Valor (Fall 2018), Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle ‘Donkey Kong Adventure’ DLC (June 26th), Pixark (Fall 2018), Just Dance 2019 (October 23rd), Fifa 19 (September 28th), Ark Survival Evolved (Fall 2018), Wasteland 2 Director’s Cut (Fall 2018), Dark Souls Remastered (Summer 2018), SNK Heroine Tag Team Frenzy (September 7th), Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate (August 28th), Wolfenstein 2 The New Colossus (June 29th), and The World Ends With You Final Remix (Fall 2018).
Last but not least is what they spent most of the time talking (and showing) about; the new Smash. It will be called Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and will feature every character ever playable in a Smash game. Three of the new characters will be Inkling, Daisy, and Ridley. It looks like they put a lot of hard work into this to please die-hard Smash fans; it will be cool to see how all the new character changes turn out.
There will be GameCube controller support, but it will be sold separately. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be releasing this year on December 7th.
Thanks for reading the article! It has been a crazy year for E3 rumors, leaks, and announcements. I love seeing people get excited about the new games coming out every year even if I do not particularly care for a specific game. I hope to see you back again next year so we can do it all again!
