New 'Solo' featurette invites us into young Han Solo's world

Young Han Solo

With 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' less than a month away from release, fans are getting excited to see the next creation by Disney and Lucasfilm. For now, we have a few previews and brand new featurette that shows off some new footage from Han Solo's early days.

The new two-minute featurette titled Becoming Solo, shows off tons of new shots centering around the main protagonists of the film: Han Solo, Lando Calrissian, and Chewbacca (which is too long, we'll need to come up with a shorter name for him later).

I get more excited for each preview or piece of information they release about Solo. At the first preview's release, I didn't think the film would meet up to expectations at all, as I stated in a previous article about the film. However, another preview later and now this featurette is proving the upcoming Star Wars Story to be a worthy addition to the Star Wars library.

Ron Howard begins the featurette with an assertation that:

"the Star Wars universe that we see in Solo is different than anything else we've seen in any of the previous Star Wars movies. Those first encounters with Chewbacca, with the Millennium Falcon, with Lando Calrissian - they're in this movie!"

This isn't anything new considering we've seen most of these shots in the trailers already, however, an enthusiastic Ron Howard calls for an enthusiastic fan base, as it seems people are starting to reconsider their position on how they think the films turnout will be.

Screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, best known for his writing credits in The Empire Strikes Back also had some info about Han Solo, calling him:

"the most exciting character of them all. You never know what he's going to do. He's reckless."

It almost makes me nostalgic for the release of Revenge of the Sith back in 2005, seeing as how we already know what the outcome is going to be, it's just exciting to see all the pieces fit together.

Here's the full featurette. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
