Back at it again this week with more hidden gems for your eyeballs to see! We found a few really cool hidden gems and one fool's gold. I hope that you can find at least one new game to enjoy even if you do not have much money to spare. Time to jump into it and as always, happy gaming!

Terrian Saga: KR-17

First this week we have a game that I have owned for quite a while but have not got around to. Terrian Saga: KR-17 is a cute, simplistic side-scroller that is not that challenging. The music is fun and almost reminds me of something you might hear in a Kirby game. While I do recommend this game, I want to point out that it can be hard to distinguish what everything is. For example, enemies can appear to be part of the background or platforms can as well. If this was a harder game, this might be enough to ruin your experience with it, but it's accessible enough to be a good time still.
It really feels like the type of game you could play when in need of a pick me up, not too hard and nice tunes.

ANKI

ANKI

Next up with have my biggest disappointment of the week in ANKI. I know exactly how people feel now when they start off reviews with "I really wanted to like it" because that is how I feel about this game. The art style is cute, and the character you play as is pretty adorable but the platforming is not fun to do, and the hit detection is a bit off on saws specifically. The music doesn't really seem to fit the game, especially in the first area. Typically I could look past all of this and still enjoy it, but the worst offender was the dying sound. It sounded terrible and made me instantly want to stop playing. I continued for the review's sake, but I could not stand that noise.
Some of the ways you collected gems were interesting but not enough to justify the flaws so I will have to not recommend this one.

Explosionade

Explosionade

I had my eye on this next game for quite a while and finally had a good excuse to pick it up. Explosionade is a blast, pun very much intended. It really blew (Yeah, I can't help myself) me away with how much fun it is. The style felt very much like a run and gun game. It's set up like an arcade experience with extra points being possible for finishing under a certain time or killing all the enemies.

One of the coolest mechanics that felt very unique to this game was the shield bouncing. When you use your shield right before landing, it launches you high into the air. If you're a fan of arcade or classic run and gun games, then this will be a definite hit! I highly recommend it; I personally bought the Mommy's Best action pack that has most of the games made by Mommy's Best Games so I will list that price as well.

Soma Spirits: Rebalance

Soma Spirits: Rebalance

Last but not least we have Soma Spirits: Rebalance. It's a neat little RPGMaker game that has a pretty cool story. I don't want to spoil too much so I'll be brief; the world has been split into two making half of joy and one of sorrow. You play as the protectors of both worlds, Heart and Soul. The music sounds pretty good for this kind of game; I liked it. The humor is also a plus; it gives off the "weird RPG" vibe that Earthbound did.

The highlight for me was definitely the artwork. Everything looks nicely detailed in their pixel goodness. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys this style of games. You will definitely be getting your money’s worth out of this title.

That's it for this week! Thank you so much for making it to the end of the article! If you want to see a sneak peek of some of the upcoming article games I try to do a stream on my Twitch channel or like this week I made a YouTube video. Be sure to follow on Twitch or subscribe on Youtube to be alerted to any upcoming content.
