Recently announced Xbox games to release today on Xbox One

Xbox backward compatibility games

The games set to release today are Blinx: The Time Sweeper, Breakdown, Conker Live and Reloaded, The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, Hunter: The Reckoning, Jade Empire, Panzer Dragoon Orta, and SSX 3. All can be played for free if you own an original copy of the game or bought digitally with varying prices.

Exactly one week ago Microsoft announced a new batch of original Xbox games coming to the Xbox one via backward compatibility. As of this writing, I can attest that it is not live yet as I tried putting TES: Morrowind in and it said it was not supported. The biggest surprise for me was Panzer Dragoon Orta being included with it being a niche series that has not had a new game in a while. I personally might pick up Blinx, Jade Empire, and Panzer Dragoon Orta as I never got to play those titles back on the original Xbox.

The second batch of Xbox games will be released later this month on April 26th. Those titles include Destroy All Humans!, Full Spectrum Warrior, Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, MX Unleashed, Panzer Elite Action: Fields of Glory, Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, Star Wars Jedi Starfighter, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, and Star Wars Republic Commando. As you can tell from the list, the second batch will make a lot of Star Wars fans happy.

As soon as the first batch goes live today, I plan on diving back into Morrowind. I spent so many hours in it just wandering around stumbling upon new places; I don't think I ever actually did any of the main story. If you have never played Morrowind before this is a great chance to do so, it's not geared toward more casual play like Skyrim is so keep that in mind.

I'll close this article by mentioning that six Xbox 360 titles were also announced for backward compatibility that includes Xbox One X enhanced versions. Those titles were Sonic Generations, Darksiders, Gears of War 2 (Currently playing through this right now, hehe), Portal 2, Red Dead Redemption, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
If you happen to have an Xbox One X then you are in for a treat with those games, all of them are classics in my book.

Are you planning on picking up any of the new backward compatible titles or are you still waiting on one of your favorites to be added? I know I am still waiting on Tales of Vesperia to be added, any excuse to play through that gem again would be great. Thanks for reading! I am now off to wait impatiently for the game store to update so I can play Morrowind.
