It seems like the longevity of TV shows has shrunk considerably over the years. And, with Netflix pushing out so many Original series nowadays, it's getting harder for many to stick around for more than a season or two.The much-anticipated and heartfelt '90's nostalgia show released by Netflix earlier this year already reached its end. It's unfortunate; I was really looking forward to seeing more of this show after expressing my excitement in my previous article before it released. The reason for the cancellation was that the show was reportedly too expensive to produce for the number of views it received.
Set in the real-life town of Boring, Oregon in 1996, Everything Sucks! is a quirky, funny coming-of-age story that revolves around Boring High School's A/V Club and Drama Club - two crews of nerdy-edgy outsiders, who join forces to make a movie and endure the purgatory known as high school.
Other one-and-done Netflix shows include The Get Down, which was too expensive, Haters Back Off, which was not good, Girlboss, also not good, and Gypsy which sucked hardcore (sorry, Gypsy).
Now that the total Netflix subscription count has reached a comfortable 120+ million subscribers domestically and raised it's subscription prices expect the service to pull back on the loose leash it had before with new shows to recoup the billions of dollars of losses, while still spending about $8 billion on content per year.
