Dragon Quest XI Gets a Release Date for NA and EU Regions
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age will be released on Steam and PS4 on September 4th, 2018 in North America and Europe regions. The 3DS version that was released in Japan will not see a localization, but a Switch version will be released
Initially released in Japan for PlayStation 4 and 3DS, fans in North America and Europe were left to wonder if they would get a localization from Square Enix. The last Dragon Quest game to release outside of Japan was the 3DS title Dragon Quest IX with X being an online-only Japanese exclusive.
In the tweet below, you can see the announcement for yourself as well as the trailer:
You can pre-order it starting now on PlayStation 4 or Steam for $59.99. This is the first time a leading series Dragon Quest game has been on Steam, an exciting first that hopefully signals more JRPG releases for PC.
Are you a fan of the series or would this be your first entry? I have played most of the main series myself and cannot wait for this to be localized! My first experience with the series was the GameBoy color port of Dragon Warrior III when I was a kid, such a great game!
I would love to read about your first time playing a Dragon Quest game and what your favorite is in the comment section below.
