Netflix has acquired international rights to the entire Monty Python catalog, a bold move reassuring the reasons why I keep my Netflix subscription.Favorites of the Monty Python collection include Monty Python's Flying Circus, Monty Python's Life of Brian, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and many more including, (drum roll), all-new Python material which doesn't seem unusual seeing as how the group has reunited several times in the past.
Lesser-known titles such as Monty Python's Fliegender Zirkus, two 45-minute comedy specials that originally aired on West Germany's ARD in 1972, and Monty Python's Personal Best, a box collection feature six one-hour specials, will also be included in the streaming package at its release.
Also included will be Eric Idle's 2012 stage production What About Dick?, featuring himself and other fellow comedians Russell Brand, Billy Connolly, Jane Leeves, Tracey Ullman, and Tim Curry.
According to Deadline, the streaming giant will be launching all the titles in the United Kingdom, Canada, and other territories beginning April 15. Unfortunately, fans in the United States will need to wait until later this year, but you know it's worth it.
