Pew Pew! Call of Duty Black Ops 4 and The Division 2
Activision and Ubisoft announced sequels to their popular shooter series Call of Duty Black Ops 4 which will release globally on October 12th, 2018. We will find out more about The Division 2 in June at E3.
Announced via Twitter, Activision shared a video of the reveal that you can watch below. The last entry in the series was a return to form for the series with WW2 selling twice as many copies as Infinite War at launch. Fans should have higher hopes for Black Ops 4 after seeing the series get back to its roots.
The reveal of The Division 2 was quite surprising to me; I wasn't sure if they would continue the series or focus on other Tom Clancy titles. An interesting note from the press release about what the new game would be running on:
The Division 2 will be powered by an updated version of the Snowdrop engine that enables us to realize our ambitions for the sequel, but more importantly, we're also taking everything we learned over the past two years and applying it towards the sequel to make sure we get it right.
I also found this bit about achievements intriguing:
Part of that means recognizing your commitment to The Division. With that in mind, we're adding a new type of achievement called "Shields" to the game. Earning them will unlock special rewards in The Division 2 when it launches.
If you're a fan of FPS or shooters in general, then E3 will be the event for you this year. June can't come fast enough! If you have any speculations to add in the comment section feel free to, I personally hope The Division 2 does well and feels less grindy than the original did. Thanks for reading.
