With streaming services like Netflix and Amazon becoming more and more popular, movie theaters are having a hard time competing when people can watch newer movies from the comfort of their own home.

But now movie theaters are fighting back with the $9.95 monthly MoviePass, giving moviegoers an experience like never before. For just $9.95 a month, you can see a first run movie every day, including movies like Star Wars: The Last Jedi, as soon as they're released.

This is more than worth it for people who love taking a ton of trips to movie theaters. If you see one movie a week, that's only about $2.50 per movie. If you go more than once a week then, well, do the math! It's extremely beneficial in this case. Even if you only go to see one movie a month, you break even on the ticket price.

The great thing about MoviePass is it's already accepted in about 90 percent of theater chains nationwide, including AMC, Regal, and Cinemark, though Cinemark already has its own similar version called Movie Club. Many indie theaters also accept the pass.

The best part is there are no blackout dates. You can use MoviePass any day of the week, any time of the year.

Just like with pretty much everything, there are downsides to MoviePass. You can't purchase tickets in advance, so if there's a big movie coming up that you know is going to sell out, you'll have to pay the full ticket price to reserve your spot. You also can't use it to watch 3D or IMAX movies. MoviePass is only good for 2D movies at this time.

Also, don't expect to pay such a low price for too long. Analysts are confirming MoviePass will have to raise prices at some point due to the demand and projected money loss for studios and theaters.

It's easy to get your MoviePass, just go on their website,, and sign up. You'll receive your card in the mail within a few weeks, then all you need to do is download their app to browse theaters and showtimes, and present your card at your local box office or kiosk to take advantage of a great deal!
